On 15 May 1766 when Abiah was 25, he married Abigail GILES[5], in Weymouth, Norfolk Co., Mass.[5]
They had no children.
184. Ruth WHITMAN.[5] Born on 5 Nov 1743 in Weymouth, Norfolk Co., Mass. Ruth died in Weymouth, Norfolk Co., Mass on 3 Oct 1751, she was 7.
185. Sarah WHITMAN.[5] Born on 2 Sep 1745 in Weymouth, Norfolk Co., Mass. Sarah died in Weymouth, Norfolk Co., Mass on 10 Sep 1751, she was 6.
186. William WHITMAN.[5] Born on 12 Oct 1748 in Weymouth, Norfolk Co., Mass. William died in Weymouth, Norfolk Co., Mass on 7 Sep 1751, he was 2.
187. Sarah WHITMAN.[5] Born on 17 Oct 1752 in Weymouth, Norfolk Co., Mass. Sarah died in Weymouth, Norfolk Co., Mass on 25 Feb 1825, she was 72.
In 1773 when Sarah was 20, she married Lieut. Ambrose SALISBURY[5], in Weymouth, Norfolk Co., Mass.
188. Ruth WHITMAN.[5] Born on 20 Oct 1755 in Weymouth, Norfolk Co., Mass.
Ruth and her husband removed to Charlemount; at the time of the settlement of her father's estate, they were mentioned as living in that town. Reportedly, they then removed to Cummington, but the town records show nothing. Abiah's will, dated 1807, refers to the children of Ruth, and refers to Ruth as being deceased.
Four of Ruth's children, Hannah, Jesse, Calvin, and Oren, are listed by Farnam with the last name of Johnson. Is it possible these children were adopted?
On 8 Nov 1783 when Ruth was 28, she married Jesse REED[5]. Born in Abingdon, Plymouth, Mass.
