Rebecca married John MEARS[4].

Possibly the "famous drummer" of Easton

169. Jacob WHITMAN.[4] Born in 1753. Jacob died on 29 Dec 1842, he was 89.

About 1780 he removed to Buckfield, ME, being one of the early settlers of that town. Prior to this time, he served in the Massachusetts muster rolls as a private in the company of Capt. Eliakim Howes, and marched from Bridgewater to Braintree Neck, March 4, 1776. There is a family tradition that he served in the Battle of Bunker HIll, and his name appears on the Senate rolls March 4, 1831.

Farnam has this Jacob listed as being born after his father was 70. Later notes indicate Jacob was born when his father was 72 years old!

Jacob married Abigail PACKARD[4]. Born on 20 May 1756 in Bridgewater,. Abigail died on 7 Jul 1837, she was 81.
