| During the Civil War, Cyrus enlisted in the 50th Ohio Volunteers. He was captured and made a prisoner of war and spent some time in Andersonville Prison. On his way home on the Mississippi River on the vessels "Sultanna", the boat exploded. In an attempt to save a woman passenger and her small child, he received injuries from which he died 27 April, 1865.[51] | ||||||||
