| "Among the list of Revolutionary soldiers from Massachusetts Province are found the names of Jonathan and Jonathan, Jr. , unless there is an error in the enrollment. Jonathan Sr. served in Captain Orr's Company of minutemen, on the occaision of the "alarm of April 15, 1775". He died Oct. 31, 1778. HIs will, dated Sept. 13, 1777, proven Dec. 7, 1778, mentions his wife Bethia, Leah, only child of his son Jonathan, his daughter Elizabeth, and Ruth, widow of his son Jonathan." |
