| This is Administration Building of Acadia College at Wolfville, NS. Year of foundation: 1838 Former names of the institution: Queen's College (1838); Acadia College (1841). Many Whitmans and Whitman-related familes had members who studied here. The Whitmans of Canso, being for the most part childless, willed their vast fortune to Acadia College. Acadia has Manning Chapel, and Residence Halls named after the Whitman, Eaton, Chase and Chipman families.
