| Another tintype, this is my wife's grandfather, Leander Morse Whitman (1871-1944), Asa and Mary's youngest child. We figure he is about six or seven years old here, so this picture was likely taken in the late 1870's. Leander married Grace May Jenkins of Scituate, Mass. in 1907. He was a blacksmith in Bridgetown in the Annapolis Valley and later moved to a small farm at nearby Carleton Corner, where he continued his blacksmithing. | |
