My wife's great-grandfather, Asa Whitman (1817-1879) and his wife, Mary Eliza Beals (1824-1916). Asa was a great- grandson of Deacon John Whitman of "Charming Molly" fame. Asa was a farmer, and he and his family lived in Inglisville on the slopes of the South Mountain above Lawrencetown in the Annapolis Valley. They had 11 children. We guesstimate this picture was taken sometime in the 1870s.
