243. John WHITMAN.[4] Born in 1739.
244. Isaiah WHITMAN.[4] Born in 1741. Isaiah died on 25 Jul 1759, he was 18.
Died by drowning when he was a student at Yale College, and was buried in the College plot.
A message on his tombstone reads:
"Just as his parents hailed the day
When joys should all their cares repay
Just as his own fond hopes aspired
To deeds by which bright minds are fired
Death snatched him hence in youthful bloom
And sank those hopes beneath the tomb"
