| Probably came over from England with John Whitman, as an intimacy existed between the families. In 1662 he moved with son-in-law Thomas Whitman to Bridgewater. When the Indians came and burned the houses in the area, Nicholas's house was not touched, traditionally on account of some favor received by the Indians from Nicholas. | ||
